Back in May we covered the launch of the Premier, Nike¡¯s take on a cleat with a retro feel packed with the latest technology. Launching in a black and white colorway, now Nike takes a bold move by creating three limited edition tonal versions to honor three of football¡¯s greatest teams: Brazil, England and France.
These cleat will feature a premium leather that has already received great reviews on the initial launch, now in a color to match each country¡¯s soccer heritage. The ¡°Brasil Edition¡± comes in an all-yellow look with a white outsole and stud tips, obviously inspired in the famous Canarinha jersey. Meanwhile, the French version features a vivid blue paintjob to match Les Bleus famous home kit, also with white details. Finally, the England design comes in an intense red to match the iconic away jersey most recognized as the World Cup winning outfit.
As a finishing touch, the sock liner will feature a graphic referencing the years each country has been World Champions, so 1998 for France, 1966 for England and a record five times for Brazil: 1958, 1962, 197, 1994 and 2002.
When we showed players the first colorway of the Premier they said, 'It looks like a classic from the archives', but when they put it on they could feel that it has all the latest technology and performance insights, said Denis Dekovic, Footwear Design Director, Nike Football.
The launch colorway has been extremely well received by our players from the elite level to grass roots football so we decided that we'd inject some vibrancy into the boot by bringing out these three colorways, added Dekovic.
