Reigning European Champions FC Bayern released their new away jersey, which will complete the 2013/2014 collection along with their new Home and European Alternate jerseys. To be worn by stars such as Toni Kroos, Javi Martinez, Thomas Muller, and Bastian Swcheinsteiger, this new jersey is as German as it gets!
This new design by Adidas takes root in the world-famous Oktoberfest held annually in Munich, Bavaria. Based on the Lederhosen costume identified with the celebration, this new kit combines a creamy white tone with brown detailing and green accents. The shirt includes an oversized polo collar, which carries the traditional club motto ¡°Mia san mia¡± written in the back, as well as a subtle tartan pattern to complete the retro look. The brown shorts with golden accents are meant to imitate a leather look, while the socks also incorporate another element of curious inspiration, with a grey and green design based on the Wadenstr¨¹mpfe, the traditional calf warmers worn with this Bavarian outfit.
Launched in anticipation of the famous beer festival, which this year will begin on September 21, the jersey¡¯s debut has been timed accordingly. The kit will be worn for first time during Bayern¡¯s next home game against Hannover 96 on Saturday, September 14, and players will even walk out to the field with a matching jacket and hat design you can see in the video below!
