DMGRC 2005 Top Versatile Performance Dog:

Karen Lewis and Chosen's MACH
aka. MACH Lookout's Behind Door One VCD2, TDX, ADHF

What is a MACH? Master Agility Champion. To achieve this title you must have 20 Double-Q and 750 points. You get a double-Q each time you get a score of 100 in both the Excellent B Jumpers and Standard course on the same day. You get points for each whole second under course time. If you are first in you class, your points are doubled for that run and if you come in second, you points are multipled by 1.5. Karen and Chosen accomplished this in just 4 years. Pretty darn neat !

Chosen's first trial was 4/27/02 in Lakewood CO. Just prior to her 2nd birthday. She and 4 other littermates showed in the 2 day trial. Two of them liked to bark when they ran. Chosen Q'd all 4 runs.
She was in Excellent A Standard for 14 months. I thought we would never get out of the class. I think this was the hardest time we ever had. Standard was always a problem because she had to slow down for the contacts. She liked Jumpers because she didn't have to slow down.
One of the funniest things was her not wanting to leave the ring when the run was over. I had to play tricks on her to get her out of the ring. One time she was back jumping the last jump when the next dog was on the line.
I think the thing that helped me the most was keeping a positive attitude and laughing at her (to myself) a lot when we were running.
When she finished her MACH she had 32 QQ's. It was a lot of fun to finish in Omaha. There were so many people there that we know it made it very special. It was very special too to have Deb and Caitlin there when she finished. Karen

Here's the final jump leading up to the Mach!

Here's Karen as she completes her run and grabs the pole to begin her celebration run around the ring. The Judge and entire crowd all were clapping and cheering. I know Chosen knew she did good too!

DMOTC members and friends cheered the pair as they ran the customary Mach Run around the course.
